COCONUT CREEK, Fla. -- Willis Lease Finance Corporation, a major lessor of commercial aircraft engines and a provider of global aviation services, has been added to three additional Russell 2000 Indexes. The changes took effect on June 26, 2026, as part of the annual FTSE Russell U.S. Indexes reconstitution.
The company, which has been a member of the standard Russell 2000 Index since 2009, is now also included in the Russell 2000 Defensive index. The addition reflects the company's continued standing in the small-cap market and its classification within the defensive sector.
Willis Lease Finance, which trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker WLFC, focuses on acquiring and leasing aircraft engines to airlines and other operators worldwide. The company also offers a range of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. Being included in these indexes can increase visibility among institutional investors and index fund managers who track the Russell benchmarks. The annual reconstitution process by FTSE Russell adjusts the membership of its indexes based on market capitalization and other criteria.
