Stay Bullish Despite The Rough Week: Aerospace, Finance, Biotech, And AI

Markets took a hit this week, but long-term investors should not lose their nerve. The selloff, driven by profit-taking and macro jitters, has hit high-growth sectors hard. Yet the underlying fundamentals in aerospace, finance, biotech, and artificial intelligence remain strong.

In semiconductors, Micron and Nvidia have seen sharp pullbacks. Micron's memory chip demand is cyclical, but the shift to AI data centers and high-bandwidth memory is a multiyear trend. Nvidia's dominance in AI chips is not in question, even if the stock price is volatile. The current dip offers a better entry point for those with a 12- to 18-month horizon.

Aerospace and defense continue to benefit from sustained government spending and commercial airline recovery. Backlogs are deep, and supply chain improvements are slowly boosting deliveries. Finance is another bright spot: higher interest rates and a resilient economy have lifted bank earnings, and valuations are reasonable compared to tech.

Biotech remains a high-risk, high-reward play. The sector has been beaten down, but the pipeline for new drugs and gene therapies is robust. A few FDA approvals could shift sentiment quickly.

Looking ahead to 2026, the picture is constructive. Earnings growth should broaden beyond the Magnificent Seven. If inflation continues to cool and the Fed cuts rates, valuations will look more attractive. The key is to stay invested, avoid panic selling, and focus on companies with strong cash flows and competitive moats.

This week's volatility is a test of conviction, not a signal to exit. The bull case still holds.
