In a bid to enhance financial literacy among youth and inspire future careers in finance, Ohio State University recently organized an event that brought together 40 high school students from central Ohio with experienced financial professionals from Columbus. The initiative, part of the university's College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE), aimed to equip students with essential financial planning skills.
During the 2025 Financial Planning Academy, participants engaged in a series of interactive workshops and hands-on activities designed to teach them the fundamentals of budgeting, investing, and financial decision-making. The academy not only provided practical knowledge but also fostered mentorship opportunities, allowing students to connect with industry experts who shared their insights and experiences.
The program is part of a broader effort to address the growing need for financial education among young people, helping them to navigate the complexities of personal finance and prepare for their future careers. By empowering students with these vital skills, Ohio State is taking significant steps toward building a financially savvy generation.
